I just realised that tomorrow it will be whole good six months. I mean our six months! I mean Mrs. Ruchika Mittal’s six months! Six months of living in new home! Six months of living in new state! Six months of change! Six months of happiness (a bit of crying too)! Six months of sharing things! Six months of new Mom! Six months of new Papa! Six months of new family! Six roller coaster months!

How much cliched it may sound, but life has surely changed a lot. I have gained many many things i.e. weight. Have said good bye to many things i.e. aajtak! Have learnt many things.

I am different person. Well, not much, but yeah, a slightly different being.

Overall I have spent some nice memorable moments of my life. Thanks Sushubh.

Life is good.

I am enjoying my work. And, at last, I have learnt newsroom management. (that is what they call it!) It’s very rare that I get frustrated because of incompatibility of others. I am getting used to it slowly and steadily. In fact, I find these news people funny at times. Most of them have lost their sensibility. No, seriously, I am not joking. May be I will also lose it someday. I really don’t know. Looking at the way I am enjoying this work, this is the most predictable thing.
And yeah, I am going to a lot of page 3 parties these a days. And that deserves an entire post. I will discuss that later. Time to grab some grub!

It was a really short stint, but it was damn frustrating. People at work somehow managed to make me act in one of promos for one of channel program. It was about some morning show. And I was made to drink tea! People, who know me, are aware of my dislike for this much hyped drink.

Any way.

The shoot was frustrating to the hilt. Thankfully, I didn’t give any retakes. But the producer wanted to capture the same action from different angles. And hence, I had to repeat the action again and again (well, he had only two cameras).

And…I had to drink the hot tea again and again. And I ended up with burnt lips and tongue. God! It’s still hurting.

Am telling you…this acting business so damn tough yaar. And for a person like me, who doesn’t posses something known as patience, its nearly impossible!

I am not going to act in any promo, or for that matter any thing, again!!!

Hmmm…I am speechless now.

Reasons behind Aaj Tak showing the kind of stuff it shows:

1. Aaj tak caters to a particular strata of Indian society. It targets that group who is fed up of the hard core political news. Its target audience is the middle class person who wont think even once before changing the channel if he sees some boring shit about politicians.

2. The definition of news is changing. Earlier, news was all about politics and social issues. Now, news is all about what interests people, no matter if its Dhoni and his mane and his gals!

3. News has become business now. Its all about TRPs. If Aaj Tak is showing some crap about Indian idol and its contestants and getting 15% higher TRPs than NDTV, then why not to show this?
After all, Aaj tak is no NGO. Aaj tak has to feed a number of employees.
So, it has to decide its content according to the TRPs.

All the above three points are inter-related.
Personally, even I don’t want to see this kind of stuff on any news channel. But then, as we are told, this is just a period which will pass soon.
Time will soon come when I will watch Aaj Tak to catch up on some hard news!!
